HISTORY -Panther Energy was formed in 2005 by Berry Mullennix and Roy Grossman. Panther Energy is the fourth company formed by Messrs Mullennix and Grossman having sold or merged the previous companies. The company is majority owned and funded by the Southern Ute Indian Tribe Growth Fund and by key management. It is one of thirteen companies owned by the tribe with several being energy/midstream. Panther follows in its predecessors’ footsteps as an exploration company focused in unconventional horizontal resource plays. Panther is developing resource plays in Texas, Oklahoma, North Dakota and Montana. It is also developing conventional and wildcat plays in California, Oklahoma and Arkansas including a large option with Weyerhaeuser’s oil and gas department. The company recently sold its Arkoma basin CBM project.
